Switching Places: A Haircut Story

Casey is a real-life Rapunzel, her magnificent dark brown locks cascading all the way down to her knees. Not everyone is a fan of her lengthy tresses however, most notably her longtime rival Sandy, whose own beautiful long hair simply can't compare to Casey's fairy tale mane. But that just might change when Sandy suddenly makes Casey a surprising offer: switch places with her for a single day for a whopping six thousand dollars! Though suspicious of Sandy's motives, it's an offer cash-strapped Casey simply can't refuse. As it turns out, however, Sandy might have left out a rather crucial detail...

UPDATE: I'm Back! Three New Haircut Stories!

Hey, y'all! I know it's been a while since I posted anything, over a year actually, which is far longer than I intended. I could easily make a bunch of excuses about how life got in the way, but the honest truth is that I was simply suffering from a severe lack of motivation. I started writing a bunch of stories off and on, only to scrap them due to my dissatisfaction with how they were turning out. Hopefully, I've gotten over the hump now and can finally get back to more regularly publishing e-books. To answer the question I'm sure most of you are asking: yes, I'm currently working on a new AR story, but I'm not going to make any promises concerning when I'll publish it. It may be a while. Until then, I did manage to write a bunch of haircut stories. I know they're not nearly as popular as my AR stuff, but for those that do read them, I hope you enjoy!

The Rapunzel Competition: A Haircut Story

Alice and Claire are two real life Rapunzels, their gorgeous long hair flowing down past their knees. During a weekend getaway in a picturesque little seaside town, the two long-haired lovebirds stumble upon a local competition that seems tailor-made for them, as it just so happens to be a contest wherein the winner is the woman deemed to have the most beautiful long hair. Thinking they're almost guaranteed to win due to both the remarkable length and wonderful nature of their hair, Alice is eager for them to enter. However, if things seem too good to be true, they often are, as Alice and Claire are about to learn in the worst way possible. Because, as it turns out, those who lose this competition...also lose their hair!

Making matters worse, much to Lexi's chagrin, her parents have enrolled her in an all-girls military academy. New Haircut Short Story E-Book: The Modeling Contract

I've published another haircut story e-book! This time it's a fictional short story. Not as long as my previous autobiographical story, but hopefully just as enjoyable to those who enjoy this kind of story.

Free Haircut Story: Spring Break Haircut

I'm currently working on a new story to publish, but until then here is one of the short stories I wrote a while back that I mentioned in my introduction blog post. It's not fleshed out enough or long enough for me to really publish it as an e-book, so I figured I'd post it here on the blog instead. It's not my best work, but perhaps you'll still enjoy it. Also, please don't post it elsewhere without my direct permission. Otherwise, enjoy!

Spring Break Haircut
By August D. Adams

My older sister Elaine had always been jealous of me ever since we were children. She was envious of the fact that people always said I was a cuter child. She was envious of the fact I was more popular among my friends and peers. She was envious of the fact that I got better grades all throughout elementary and high school. She was envious of the fact I grew to be much prettier than her as I got older. And last but certainly not least, she had always been, ever since we were children, envious of my long gorgeous dark blond hair. Her own hair, thin and stringy and a dull brown, just couldn't compare, no matter how hard she tried Eventually she just gave up and cut it short into a plain, boring bob.
My hair, on the other hand, grew longer and longer as I got older. In high school it got to the length I ended up keeping it at, hanging down in a thick amazing sheet to the middle of my bum. I always got compliments on my hair, whether from friends, strangers or family members. I loved my hair. I considered it my best feature and it was most certainly my most prized possession, my crowning glory so to speak. I took immaculate care of it, which showed in it's healthy and wonderful condition, and whenever I got it cut I always only got a half an inch trimmed from the ends.
The summer before I was to leave for college, I was positively beaming because I'd gotten a full scholarship to an east coast Ivy League school. Since I didn't have to pay for tuition, my parents agreed to use my college fund to pay for my own apartment instead of a tiny dorm room. I was stoked to live on my own, experience college life and get a taste of independence in a new city.

My First E-Book!

I've been writing haircut stories for quite a while, but most of them are incomplete and I've never had the courage to share them publicly. I have a bad habit of starting stories and never finishing them that I'm trying to fix and I'm making an honest attempt to overcome my problems with self-doubt as it pertains to my writing. Recently, I sat down and decided I was actually going to finish a story for once. So with as much self-motivation as I could muster, I wrote and finished a story about the origins of my own haircut fetish. It's aptly titled How I Got a Haircut Fetish. It's easily the longest story I've ever written, coming in at around 30,000 words. It's currently up for sale at Smashwords and Amazon.

How I Got a Haircut Fetish

Many refer to me as "the girl with the really long hair," but what they don't know is that my long hair carries with it a dirty little secret. This is the story of how that secret first came to be. This is the story of how a series of events involving a stuck-up teenager with gorgeous long hair, her divorced parents, and an unexpected trip to a barbershop all came together to create my haircut fetish.

I'm not expecting to sell that many copies, since I imagine there's probably not a huge audience for these types of stories, but I'm hoping to at least sell enough to justify continuing to write more stories for the purpose of publishing. Anyways, enjoy! :)
